We are thrilled to offer OFG Customs modified Super 16mm and Standard 16mm Bolex cameras with a flicker free HD Video Assist, integrated Gold Mount battery plates, remote RS, crystal sync, completely custom integrated camera cage, all designed in-house by OFG Customs! We have many models availabe including Bolex EBM Electric, Bolex SBM, and Bolex REX5 with 3-lens Turret Mount.

The HD video assist replaces the original optical viewfinder, allowing the use of EVFs, monitors, recorders, and wireless video transmitters, and is much easier to monitor your image than the original optical viewfinder.

At half the weight of an ARRI SR3 this little camera is perfect for a compact B-Cam, car mount, car interiors, gimbal, Snorricam, hand held, and anywhere you need a small camera. It even has custom 15mm LWS rod support making it easy to build out with any matte box or follow focus systems. As for lenses, we have many 16mm and S16mm lens options in PL mount, and we have some beautiful, ultra-lightweight C Mount lenses as well.

We offer both Super 16, and Standard 16 cameras.

BOLEX H16 EBM ELECTRIC

For the EBM the battery plate is more than just a better, modern way to power the camera. It has 3-pin Fischer, 2-pin LEMO, and D-Tap outputs to power all your accessories, and even has an integrated start/stop button, which replaces the old clumsy power cables, or heavy battery hand grips. For the EBM, the battery plate is RS enabled which means you can remotely run/stop the camera with modern follow focus systems like ARRI Hi-5, WCU-4, and Tilta Nucleus.

Another amazing feature, our custom battery plate incorporates crystal sync at 23.98, 24, and 25 fps. This makes it a great option for shooting music performances where you need to sync to playback. The Bolex is technically not a sync sound camera, but it is fairly quiet at those frame rates.

BOLEX H16 REX5

The REX5 features a 3-Lens Turret style lens mount. this allows you to mount 3 lightweight C-Mount lenses, and allows nearly instant lens changes. You get the benefits of the faster aperture, amazing image quality and close focus of primes, but the ability to go from wide, to standard, to telephoto almost as fast as using a zoom lens. It’s an amazing way to shoot, and it’s such a compact build. The camera is shown here with the Kern Switars. These lenses were designed specifically to work with the Bolex’s prism, and offer arguably the best image quality possible for this camera.

For the Bolex REX5, the battery plate powers the HD Video Assist, and all your accessories, but you still need to use the hand crank to power the camera itself.

NOTE: All our Bolex cameras use 16mm 100’ rolls. They are not set-up to work with Bolex 400’ Magazines.
