The Cooke Panchro Classic FF primes are a modern take on the original Cooke Speed Panchros. And while many of the original Panchros actually do cover FF, all of these new lenses were designed to completely cover the 36mm x 24mm “Full Frame” format.
What we love about these lenses, is that Cooke did a lot to revise the look of the original panchros. They even have coatings that closely match the original lenses.
They are sharp on center, with gentle fall off to the edges. Bokeh is smooth but with a small amount of vintage texture. They are medium contrast lenses, with beautiful purple, amber and blue flares, reminiscent of much older lenses. Just like the original Panchros, they produce virtually no chromatic aberration.
