MORE INFO

We now have the full 10-lens set, including the new ultra-wide 20mm T1.9. Type SK Primes are based on Full Frame, 1960s Canon Rangefinder optics, in modern cinema housings. Their vintage coatings deliver beautiful low-contrast images, and gold lens flares. Despite their age, they are sharp, even wide open, with surprisingly low chromatic aberration, even for vintage, high-speed lenses. They also have a unique painterly bokeh, that gives images a texture and depth you can’t really get with modern lenses.

The new housings have 110mm fronts, 300 degree focus rotation, PL mounts, matching gear positions, and greatly improved close focus distances. Additional focal lengths are coming soon.

ZERO OPTIK MAMIYA 48mm T1.7

If you want to go “off menu” please ask us about our Zero Optik rehoused Mamiya 48mm T1.7 (f1.5). We got this lens rehoused as an alternative to the Canon Dream Lens 50mm T1.1 (f0.95), and the Type SK 50mm. Character wise, this lens sits right between the 50mm T1.1 “Dream Lens” in our TLS Canon Rangefinder set, and the Canon 50mm T1.6 in the Type SK set. It’s not as extreme as the Dream Lens, but it offers more character than the Type SK 50mm. The Mamiya 48mm is a great alternative. It has the same gold, single layer coatings, delivering big lens flares (bigger than the Type SK 50mm), and might actually pair better with the Type SK 25mm, 28mm, 35mm, and 40mm. It has amazing textured bokeh. It’s sharp on center with a pleasing amount of fall off, and almost no chromatic aberration. If you love shooting on the 50mm focal length, but want a little more character, this lens is the perfect option.
