MORE INFO

This is a rare, vintage Fujinon 28-280mm T4.2 (f3.5) zoom. It’s sharp, with medium contrast, and it produces gorgeous, bold, gold lens flares, this lens is the perfect companion for older 1960s primes with similar coatings like Kowa Cine Prominar (spherical), TLS Canon Rangefinders, and Type SKs.

In many ways this has become one of our favorite vintage 10x zooms like the Cooke 25-250mm T3.9 and Angenieux 25-250mm T3.9. It has some of the classic hallmarks or 1970s zooms, but it’s sharper at the edges than many of our other vintage 10x zooms, and this lens is very good when you really want to utilize a zoom within your shot. In some vintage 10x zooms, the “Sweet spot” where the lens is performing at its best is in the center, but can vary as you go though the zoom range. This lens resolves detail very consistently from center to the edges and it maintains it consistently across the zoom range. So if you plan on doing some classic slow zooms, this lens is perfect for that.

If gorgeous flares are what you are looking for, this is the lens. It flares like the Kowa Prominar 20mm and 25mm at the wide and and like the Canon 50mm f0.95 Dream lens at middle and longer focal lengths. It’s addictive.
