MORE INFO

These are 1980s Russian cinema lenses, designed to cover the Super 35mm format. They are NOT rehoused still photo lenses. These were the highest performing cinema lenses being made in Russia, and their performance is still impressive today. Wide open they have slightly lower-contrast, are flattering, highlights bloom slightly, and bokeh is stunning. Stopped down to T2, contrast and sharpness increases to peak performance. They have an incredible analogue character, they flare in a unique and very beautiful way, but the lenses handle backlight with ease. Also worth noting, focus breathing is extremely well controlled in this set, and virtually non-existent on the wide and middle focal lengths.

You might find other sets of LOMO Super Speeds out there, but it’s difficult to find a set that is not only rehoused, but also includes the 14mm T1.5, 18mm T1.5 and 22mm T1.5. LOMO made very few of these, especially the 14mm and 18mm. Not only do these lenses have absolutely stunning character, but they make for a very complete set with perfectly spaced focal lengths from 14mm to 75mm all between T1.3 and T1.5.

These are rehoused lenses, with modern, reliable, repeatable mechanics. The focus throw is now 330 degrees and buttery smooth. Close focus has been greatly improved on all of the lenses. They all have matching 95mm fronts and matching gear positions. These lenses offer a unique vintage character without sacrificing performance. They are quickly becoming a favorite of many cinematographers.
