These rare 16mm format cinema lenses were designed and built by Kowa for Cinema Products. They are very fast, and they produce sharp images with very well controlled aberrations. Focus breathing is extremely well controlled, and close focus distances are solid. Wide open, Bokeh is very smooth on these lenses, and even in S16, you can easily separate subject from background. Lens flares are beautiful thanks to the purple and amber coatings.

When choosing S16mm primes, there are very few choices for cinematographers. These lenses offer a really wonderful combination of performance and character, and should strongly be considered for almost any type of shooting situation. Our sets include the extremely rare 6mm and 37.5mm for a very complete 6-lens set.

Duclos Lenses converted these to PL mount and added the 80mm fronts which accept 77mm screw-in filters, eliminating the need for a mate box, and allowing a very compact build.

Please note, the 6mm covers 16mm, but not Super 16mm. The 9mm has been modified to cover Super 16mm.
