MORE INFO

These are vintage Nikon optics from the 1970s and 1980s, all beautifully rehoused by Zero Optik, and all with PL mounts, matching 95mm fronts (except the 15mm), matching focus and iris gear positions, 300 degree focus throw (in the proper cinema direction) and in some focal lengths, improved close focus. The entire lens set will cover Full Frame sensors and beyond. These lenses cover RED Monstro, Sony Venice, Alexa LF in Open Gate and many of them even cover the entire Alexa 65 sensor.

Vintage Nikon lenses deliver amazing performance without sacrificing character. They are some of the most flattering lenses you will ever shoot with. They are sharp, but with less micro contrast than most primes, which works so well when it comes to skin tones. highlights tend to have a slight glow, and the faster lenses can deliver unique blooming effects and aberrations when shot wide-open. Each lens gives you two looks in one, simply by where you set the iris.

Speaking of the irises, the original designs were 7 and 9 straight blade irises, and they made bokeh distracting when stopped down. Zero Optik swapped them out for 14 blade irises that leave bokeh smooth, soft and never distracting regardless of what stop you are shooting at. These lenses offer the best attributes of vintage Nikon glass, and improvements only where it made sense.

We also offer the Century converted PL mount Nikon 200mm f2. This lens was the worlds first high-speed 200mm lens, dating back to the 1970s. It’s sharp yet flattering, and the bokeh it produces is extremely soft, making your subject really pop from the frame. It has an 18 blade iris keeping bokeh perfectly circular even when stopped down.
